The Portland Police Bureau seeks the public's assistance in finding a missing 11-year-old boy. Caidyn "Joseph" Dexter just moved to Portland with his mother. They are staying at a hotel in the 11900 Block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard. On June 16, 2026, at about 4:15 p.m., Caidyn left the hotel headed westbound on the south side of Northeast Sandy Boulevard with a backpack and a basketball. Caidyn's mother believed he was going to play but he has not yet returned home.
Caidyn is described as African-American male, 11 years old, approximately 5'3" tall, weighing about 150 lbs., with short dark hair, last seen carrying a basketball and possibly black backpack and wearing a pink Nike headband and a light gray shirt and shorts. Caidyn does not have money or a cell phone with him and is unfamiliar with the area.
Anyone who sees Caidyn is urged to call 911. If anyone has information about him that may help in the search, please email missing@police.portlandoregon.gov. Please reference case number 26-175064.
