On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, detectives assigned to the Portland Police Bureau's Major Crimes Unit located and arrested John A. Knight, 36, in connection to an April 2026 assault. Knight was transported to the Multnomah County Detention Center and lodged on the following charge: Assault in the Second Degree.

PPB Needs Public's Help Identifying Suspect in Assault Case

The Portland Police Bureau is asking for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect in a 2026 assault case.

On Monday, April 20, 2026, at approximately 7:00 a.m., in the 2800 block of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, an adult male was assaulted by an unknown male. The victim sustained injuries to his shoulder, knee and hand. 

PPB released images of the suspect in the case in hopes that someone in the community recognizes him or has information that could assist in the investigation. 

Anyone with information is urged to contact PPB.
