Man Arrested Following Injury Shooting in Hazelwood Neighborhood

Officers assigned to the Portland Police Bureau's East Precinct arrested a suspect following a shooting that left a man injured in in the Hazelwood Neighborhood.

On Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 9:11 p.m., PPB Officers were initially dispatched to a hospital in Southeast Portland on a report of a walk-in gunshot victim. Hospital staff reported the adult male had sustained at least one gunshot wound. The victim, whose injuries were non-life-threatening, was stable, alert, and able to speak with officers.

While officers were at the hospital, they learned of a possible shooting scene in the area of Southeast 96th Avenue. Officers responded to locate a potential crime scene and developed information identifying a suspect as Maquann D. Roseman, 31, of Portland. Officers established containment at a residence in the 2100 block of Southeast 96th Avenue. Ultimately, Roseman exited the residence and was taken into custody at 11:32 p.m.

Roseman was transported to the Multnomah County Detention Center (MCDC) and lodged on the following charges: Attempted Murder in the First Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, Attempted Assault in the First Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. 

Meanwhile, PPB's Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) responded to the residence on Southeast 96th Avenue to investigate, and that investigation is ongoing.
