Woman Faces Attempted Murder Charge After Shooting and Injuring Man in Lloyd District Neighborhood

A woman is facing attempted murder and other charges after shooting and injuring a man in the Lloyd District Neighborhood.

On Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 9:32 p.m., Portland Police Officers assigned to North Precinct responded to the 1200 Block of Northeast 2nd Avenue on a report of someone shot. EMS responded and paramedics transported the victim to the hospital by ambulance with a non-life threatening injury. 

Officers' initial investigation led them to an apartment in the 1400 block of Northeast 7th Avenue, located the crime scene, and located and arrested the suspect.

Detectives with the Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) responded to assist and they booked Carlena M. Autry, AKA Carlena Jeffries, 47, of Portland, into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Attempted Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. The investigation revealed that the suspect and victim knew each other.
