Suspect Arrested on Attempted Assault Charges Following Drive-By Shooting

Portland Police officers located and arrested a suspect this morning following a non-injury, drive-by shooting that occurred in the Ardenwald-Johnson Creek Neighborhood. The suspect is now facing attempted murder and other charges.

On Monday, February 16, 2026, at 11:20 a.m., Portland Police Officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to a report of a drive-by shooting in the area of Southeast Van Water Street and Southeast 36th Avenue.  The victim called 911 to report their vehicle had been hit by gunfire and gave a description of the suspect vehicle.  The victim reported there were no injuries.

Officers found the suspect vehicle at a business in the 4500 block of Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard. Witnesses described seeing the suspect enter the business, discard property and then leave the location on foot.  Officers took the man into custody after he exited the building.  The suspect has been identified as Kordayle ReLa Dorley, 19, of Portland and he is being charged with Attempted Murder, Attempted Assault in the first degree, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm.  

Officers located a handgun inside the business and have seized it as evidence.  

The Portland Police Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) is responding to the scene and will take over the investigation.
