Suspect Arrested on Attempted Assault Charges Following Drive-By Shooting

On Monday, February 16, 2026, at 11:20 a.m., Portland Police Officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to a report of a drive-by shooting in the area of Southeast Van Water Street and Southeast 36^th Avenue.  The victim called 911 to report their vehicle had been hit by gunfire and gave a description of the suspect vehicle.  The victim reported there were no injuries.

Officers found the suspect vehicle at a business in the 4500 block of Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard. Witnesses described seeing the suspect enter the business, discard property and then leave the location on foot.  Officers took the man into custody after he exited the building.  The suspect has been identified as Kordayle ReLa Dorley, 19, of Portland and he is being charged with Attempted Murder, Attempted Assault in the first degree, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm.  

Officers located a handgun inside the business and have seized it as evidence.

The Portland Police Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) is responding to the scene and will take over the investigation.
