Good evening. PPB is monitoring a protest in front of the ICE Facility. We want to remind the crowd to stay out of the street. We are putting out sound truck messages which will be repeated here on this platform.

Soundtruck: South Bancroft and South Moody Street are open to vehicles. Please leave the roadway immediately and move onto the sidewalk. If you stay in the street, you may be arrested or cited for Disorderly Conduct or other State and City offenses. Please leave the roadway now.

A crowd is blocking traffic in the South Waterfront. The sound truck has just delivered the following message: This is the Portland Police Bureau. South Bancroft and South Moody Street are open to vehicles. Please leave the roadway immediately and move onto the sidewalk.

This is the Portland Police. Do not tamper with or barricade the doors to the ICE facility. Anyone tampering with or barricading the doors may be subject to arrest and or use of force. PPB will be making focused arrests for criminal behavior.

Traffic #ALERT: The size of the crowd in Elizabeth Caruthers Park has spilled onto streets. S Curry St is closed between S Moody Av and S Bond Av. @PDXStreetcar and @trimet service is disrupted in the area.

All streets surrounding Elizabeth Caruthers Park are blocked now and a march enroute to the ICE facility. S Bancroft St is blocked at S. Macadam Ave, no vehicle access.

PPB has observed munitions deployed near the ICE facility. That was another law enforcement agency; PPB has NOT deployed any munitions. S Bancroft St is still closed to traffic.

The irritant gas that was deployed by another law enforcement agency is expanding around S Bancroft St and S Moody Ave. The gas cloud is moving across S Macadam Ave so PPB has temporarily closed that thoroughfare.

We've been notified that @pdxfire is responding to a couple of medical calls near S Bancroft St and S Moody Ave. People in the area will see some paramedics and fire vehicles. Thanks for giving them space to assist those patients!

Traffic #ALERT: The irritant gas has now drifted away enough to allow us to reopen the area to traffic. S. Macadam Ave is still open. S. Bancroft is still closed just east of Macadam.

Federal law enforcement has deployed munitions, including irritant gas at the ICE facility in South Portland. PPB is closing S Macadam Ave again to prevent drivers from being affected. PPB has NOT deployed any munitions.

Gas has dissipated enough to allow us to reopen S. Macadam Ave to traffic. S. Bancroft remains closed east of Macadam. PPB officers have NOT used munitions. Officers are monitoring.

Please be aware that an ambulance is responding to the area of S Bancroft St and S Moody Ave for an injured person. Please allow first responders room to assist the patient. Officers and an RRT paramedic were with the patient immediately and are treating him.
