The man killed in a shooting in the Lloyd District Neighborhood on September 9, 2025, has been identified as Hassani Abdi Musa, 25, of Portland. His family has been notified of his death. They are requesting privacy at this time, but they did provide a photo for public release.

 The Medical Examiner determined the victim died of homicide by gunshot wound.

One Dies Following Shooting in the Lloyd District Neighborhood, Homicide Investigation Underway

On Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 11:28 p.m., Portland Police Officers assigned to North Precinct responded to a call of shots fired in the 500 block of Northeast Holladay Street. When officers arrived, they found an adult male victim on the sidewalk on Northeast Grand Avenue just south of Northeast Hassalo Street. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded and determined the man was deceased. 

The suspect or suspects left the scene and no immediate arrests were made. 

The Portland Police Detective Division Homicide Unit responded to the scene to investigate, and the investigation is ongoing.
