Protest March Underway in Downtown Portland

 

The Portland Police Bureau is monitoring a community gathering is affecting some traffic in the Downtown Portland neighborhood. The gathering started in Tom McCall Waterfront Park and the march recently started.

 

The anticipated route is expected to affect traffic on Northwest Naito Parkway, Northwest Davis Street, Northwest and Southwest 3rd Avenue, and cross streets to Southwest Columbia Street. Other streets may be affected as well. 

 

The Portland Police Bureau is monitoring this event and will post additional updates our Twitter/X Events Page here

 

Dialogue Officers are communicating with event participants, and officers on bicycles and in vehicles are in the area. An Incident Command Team was activated. The team managed numerous resources that included Dialogue Liaison Officers (officers with white uniform shirts), the Rapid Response Team, and public safety partners. 

 

As a reminder, PPB does not engage in immigration enforcement as outlined in PPB Directive 810.10, but is still responsible for maintaining public safety and enforcing state laws.
