The Portland Police Bureau was honored to join the community for a large concert event at Providence Park last night.

On the evening of June 28, 2025, the Post Malone and Jelly Roll stadium tour stop at Providence Park was a resounding public safety success, with nearly 32,000 people coming together to celebrate the artists—without a single arrest or major incident.
PPB command personnel, the Central Bike Squad, and the PPB Mobile Command Center were on hand, in addition to uniformed officers, sergeants, lieutenants, and other sworn members who were hired by the venue to serve as a public safety presence in and around the stadium.
PPB members attended to not only ensure public safety and provide reassurance for those in attendance, but also as an opportunity to connect with community members.
Chief Bob Day toured the facility before the show to see the culmination of months of planning and collaboration. “I wanted to understand the security requirements and needs for these events,” said Chief Day, commenting that he expects to see more large concerts in the future. “It is really a celebration of Portland, and a celebration of the evening as thousands of Portlanders come together on a beautiful summer evening to represent and celebrate what we want Portland to be about.”
Chief Day emphasized that he sees the Portland Police and the community as the same thing. “It’s not the police and the community. The police are the community.”
It was a testament to the progress Portland is making.
PPB is grateful to all of the partners who were a part of the planning and execution of this event, including Providence Park, The Transit Police Division, the Portland Bureau of Transportation, Tri Met, and others.
“I attended the entire event and want to personally thank Providence Park and Portland Timbers CEO Heather Davis for the strong partnership, as well as the many public safety professionals whose coordination ensured a safe and welcoming atmosphere,” said Central Precinct Commander Brian Hughes. “I could not be more proud of Portland and the path we’re on.”
