From June 23–27, 2025, the 12th Annual Rosenbaum PPB Youth Camp brought together Portland-area youth, Portland Police Bureau officers, and community coaches for a week filled with energy, laughter, and meaningful connection. Hosted at Parkrose High School, the day camp welcomed kids ages 8 to 14 for five days of skill-building, teamwork, and mentorship.
Throughout the week, officers and coaches led campers through a variety of activities, including archery, basketball, soccer, fishing, hiking, arts & crafts, tennis, and pickleball. Each activity offered more than just fun—it was a chance for youth to build confidence, learn good sportsmanship, and form positive relationships with trusted adults in their community.
What makes the Rosenbaum PPB Youth Camp special is the way it bridges generations and roles. Officers weren’t just present—they were playing, coaching, encouraging, and listening. The camp created a space where uniforms became jerseys, and titles gave way to teamwork. Kids saw a different side of law enforcement, one rooted in care, community, and connection.
Supported by the U.S. Department of Justice through the National Mentoring Programs, the camp reflects the shared commitment of Camp Rosenbaum and the Portland Police Bureau to invest in youth and strengthen community ties. Year after year, the Rosenbaum PPB Youth Camp continues to leave a lasting impression—on the kids who attend and on the officers who return to serve, support, and inspire.
