The suspect in a fatal stabbing of Miguel A. Alvarez-Flores on June 22, 2025, has been arrested.

On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, Homicide Detectives, with assistance from the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT), arrested David N. Marson, 40, of Portland, in connection to the fatal stabbing on June 22, 2025. Marson was transported to the Multnomah County Detention Center and lodged on charges of Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

The victim’s family has been notified of the arrest.

The victim of a stabbing in the Foster-Powell Neighborhood has been identified. 

The victim of a stabbing in the Foster-Powell Neighborhood on June 22, 2025, has been identified as Miguel A. Alvarez-Flores, 21, of Hillsboro. His family has been notified of his death. They are requesting privacy at this time, but they did provide a photo for public release.

 The Medical Examiner determined Alvarez-Flores died of homicide.

Man Dies in Stabbing in Foster-Powell Neighborhood

On Sunday, June 22, 2025 at 12:26 a.m., Portland Police Officers responded to a report of a stabbing in a parking lot in the 6200 block of Southeast Foster Road. When they arrived they found one an adult male deceased at the scene. The suspect or suspects left the scene before police arrived and no immediate arrests were made. 

The Portland Police Homicide Unit is responding to investigate. During the investigation, Southeast Foster Road is blocked from Southeast 62nd Avenue to Southeast 65th Avenue.
