Tactical Teams Respond to Search for Suspect Who Fired Shots at Milwaukie Police
Portland Police tactical teams are currently searching the area around Eastmoreland Golf Course for a suspect who fired shots at Milwaukie Police Officers. No officers were reportedly injured.
On Friday, June 20, 2025 at 2:53 a.m., Portland Police officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to a call for assist Milwaukie Police, who were coming into Portland in a vehicle pursuit of a suspect who had fired shots at their officers. As officers responded, they were notified that the suspect had crashed his vehicle near Southeast Tacoma Street and Southeast 26th Place and ran north into Eastmoreland Golf Course. Officers set up a perimeter around the golf course to Southeast Bybee Boulevard.
The Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) responded to conduct a search of the golf course. Out of an abundance of caution, area residents have been notified through the Public Alerts system and asked to stay inside and call 911 if they see anyone suspicious in their yards.
MAX service was disrupted but is being restored, and Union Pacific trains were halted.
The PIO is responding to the scene. Additional information will be released as appropriate.
