On Thursday, June 5, 2025, the United States Marshal's Service arrested Michael K. Cohron, 64, of Portland, during a traffic stop at Southeast 65th Avenue and Southeast Woodstock Boulevard.
The arrest followed a criminal investigation dating back to June of 2023, when PPB took a report that Cohron was abusing a vulnerable girl with developmental disability. The investigation revealed that the abuse had been happening since 2016, when the girl was 11 years old, and continued until the report was made in 2023, when the victim was 18. The victim was known to Cohron.
On February 10, 2025, a secret indictment was obtained by the Multnomah County District Attorney’s office indicting Cohron on 52 charges, including:
Rape in the First Degree (ORS 163.375) x 2 counts,
Rape in the Second Degree (ORS 163.365) x4 counts,
Rape in the Third Degree (ORS 163.355) x4 counts,
Sodomy in the First Degree (ORS 163.405) x 2 counts,
Sodomy in the Second Degree (ORS 163.395) x 5 counts,
Sodomy in the Third Degree (ORS 163.385) x 4 counts,
Sex Abuse in the First Degree (ORS 163.427) x 6 counts,
Sex Abuse in the Second Degree (ORS 163.425) x 19 counts, and
Sex Abuse in the Third Degree (ORS 163.415) x 6 counts
Detectives believe there could be additional victims who have yet to file reports to police. PPB is releasing a photo of Cohron to assist with identifying any potential additional crimes.
Cohron lives in the Lents Neighborhood of Southeast Portland and in the past has lived in Milwaukie, Oregon and has been known to travel to Vermont.
