The pedestrian who died in a crash in the Richmond Neighborhood Wednesday is identified as Grey J. Wolfe, 87, of Portland. Her family has been notified of her death.

The pedestrian who died in a crash in the Richmond Neighborhood Wednesday is identified as Grey J. Wolfe, 87, of Portland. Her family has been notified of her death.

Preliminary investigation indicates revealed the adult female driver of the vehicle, a 2004 Suzuki Aerio, was traveling south on Southeast Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard when she struck Ms. Wolfe. The driver stopped and was fully cooperative with the investigation.  After being interviewed by investigators, the driver was released from the scene pending further investigation. At this time, there have been no arrests or citations issued related to this case.

This is the 45th MCT activation of the year and the 38th traffic related fatality in the city of Portland for the year.

Traffic #ALERT: One Deceased in Richmond Neighborhood Crash

A pedestrian has died in a Richmond Neighborhood Crash, and Southeast Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard is closed for multiple blocks for the investigation. 

On Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at 5:40 a.m., Portland Police Officers assigned to Central Precinct and East Precinct responded to a report of a crash at Southeast Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard and Southeast Harrison Street. When they arrived, they found a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Portland Fire & Rescue confirmed that the pedestrian died at the scene. The involved driver remained at the scene.

The Portland Police Traffic Division Major Crash Team is responding to investigate. During the investigation, Southeast Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard is closed between Southeast Market Street and Southeast Lincoln Street.

The PIO is not responding to the scene. Additional information will be released when appropriate.
