PPB, Partner Agencies Promote Safe Travel Ahead of Thanksgiving Holiday

Press Release
The Portland Police Bureau is teaming up with partner agencies to promote safe travel during the holiday season.
Published

The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) will be partnering with multiple agencies across the Portland Metropolitan area to promote safe travel. This effort, from November 21-24, 2025, is in preparation for the Thanksgiving Holiday travel period and the arrival of wet, winter weather.

Since 2023, agencies with the Metro Area Traffic Enforcement Collaboration (MATEC) have worked together to better serve the local community through the combination of traffic safety resources and personnel united in one goal: to enhance safe driving behaviors and prevent serious or fatal crashes. This will be accomplished by concentrating on the enforcement of Fatal-5 driving behaviors, which include Speed, Occupant Safety, Lane Usage, Impaired Driving, and Distracted Driving.

We ask that you drive safely, designate a sober driver or use ride share, plan ahead for travel delays, and use safety features that can enhance your safety (seatbelts, child safety seats, hands free-Bluetooth, etc).

We wish you a happy and safe travel season.
