On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at approximately 10:00 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to reports of a carjacking at gunpoint in a parking lot in the area of Southeast 143rd Avenue and Southeast Stark Street. When they arrived, officers contacted a man who said his vehicle was stolen at gunpoint by numerous individuals. About an hour later, the stolen vehicle was spotted in the area of Southeast 172nd Avenue and Southeast Ankeny Street. One of the individuals was carrying a gun and it was recovered.

One suspect has been identified as Julian D. Lane, 27, of Gresham. He was transported to the Multnomah County Detention Center (MCDC) and lodged on the following charges: Robbery in the First Degree, Robbery in the Second Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, and Attempting to Elude a Police Officer. The two other male suspects, ages 15 and 16, were transported to the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Center and lodged on a number of charges including Robbery in the First Degree and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
