The Portland Police Bureau Training Division, in partnership with the Chief’s Office and the Office of Community Engagement (OCE), invited community-based and systems partners to participate in classroom and scenario-based exposures of various policing and training topics and disciplines.

Members from the community-based advisory councils to the Chief’s Office, as well as representatives from the City Council, FITCOG, Neighborhood Associations, PCCEP, and the Multnomah County District Attorney’s, engaged with Portland Police officers and training instructors to gain a better understanding of policing training practices and policies.

We recognize that engaging with our community and justice partners is a long-term process and is an institutional investment to which we are fully committed.  The CPA program is an invaluable community-police learning and exchange platform that allows vulnerable and transparent conversations that we believe will lead to genuine partnership.
