About the Event
This event celebrates women in public safety while inspiring future generations. The movement began in 2017 after a young girl was unable to find a police officer costume made for girls. Her mother shared the experience online, prompting female officers across the country to respond by posting photos of themselves in uniform using the hashtag #GirlCopsAreAwesome. What started as a single moment grew into a national show of representation and support.
This year marks the fifth annual event.
What to Expect
The event builds on the success of previous years and will be held in a larger space to welcome more participants and activities. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet women working across public safety roles, learn about career paths, and see what it means to serve the community.
Recruitment is part of the focus, but the event is equally about recognition, visibility, and celebrating the accomplishments of women in public safety.
Who Should Attend
This event is open to everyone. People of all ages are welcome. Families, friends, and community members are encouraged to attend and participate.
