Police Precincts

Information
The Portland Police Bureau Office of Equity and Inclusion provides monthly updates to the Racial Equity Plan.
The Police Review Board is an advisory body to the Chief of Police. The Review Board will make recommendations as to findings and proposed officer discipline to the Chief of Police.
Within the Professional Standards Division, there are two distinct entities. The Internal Affairs Division, is tasked with conducting administrative investigations into allegations of employee misconduct. The other half of the Professional Standards Division is the Standards and Accountability unit.
The Property Evidence Division stores the property of all persons arrested by the Portland Police Bureau; evidence seized by officers; and illegal items or miscellaneous property that comes into the possession of members of the Police Bureau.

Property Crimes

Information
Crimes against property are crimes of theft, where no force or threat of force is directed against an individual.
The Public Safety Support Specialist Program was created to enhance community engagement opportunities and reduce the number of armed police officers responding to lower priority calls for service. With PS3s taking over the low priority calls, officers are freed up to respond to 911 calls.

Records Division

ORS 192.420 provides that every person, corporation, firm, partnership, association, and any member or committee of the Legislative Assembly, has the right to inspect any non exempt public record of a public body in Oregon.
The Regional Justice Information Network (RegJIN) is a multi-agency shared Records Management System (RMS) sponsored by the Portland Police Bureau.

Sex Crimes Unit

Information
The Sex Crimes Unit focuses on crimes of sexual violence within the City of Portland.
All registered sex offenders must register within the county in which they reside.
The mission of the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) is the preservation of life and property during critical incidents and high-risk operations.
The Strategic Communications Unit is responsible for ensuring the public has information from the Police Bureau that may be critical to life safety, may involve the need for public disclosure of activities at the Bureau, or may increase trust and transparency.
Strategic Services provides research, analysis, statistics and data to internal and external stakeholders to support law enforcement functions and the mission of the Portland Police Bureau.

Information
The Traffic Division is charged with the specific duties of traffic enforcement, serious injury collision investigation, fatal collision investigations, DUII enforcement, traffic complaints and major traffic crime investigations.
