On August 26, 1996, at about 1:55 a.m., Officers responded to 4404 N Kerby Avenue, to the report of a shooting. Upon arrival in the area, Officers were contacted by the resident of the listed address. They were informed that there was a victim inside the residence and that he appeared to be deceased. Officers on scene cleared the area and requested paramedics to respond. The victim, Marcus Catrell Jones, a 23-year-old, African-American male, was pronounced deceased by paramedics at the scene due to an apparent gunshot wound.
Witnesses reported seeing two males leaving the area on foot, wearing black clothing and one subject had what appeared to be a gun in his hand. There is no further information regarding this shooting.
