On May 15, 2005, at 1:19 a.m., Officers responded to SW Yamhill between SW 2nd and SW 3rd Street, to the report of a shooting. Upon arrival they found the victim, Thompson Tony Ly, a 41-year-old Asian male, had died from an apparent gunshot wound.
Witnesses reported seeing a gold Honda Accord, with spinner type wheels, with possibly five occupants leaving the scene. The occupants of the vehicle were described as being African-American males in their 20’s. The subject sitting in the back seat on the driver side was reported firing his gun six to seven times out the window. He was wearing black sweatpants, a red and white baseball hat and white shoes.
