On January 21, 2005, at 7:15 p.m., Officers responded to 5904 NE 9th Avenue, to the report of a shooting. Upon officers arriving at the location, they found the victim, Tameka Rene Hartley, a 25-year-old African-American female had been shot while standing on her front porch. Medics responded to the residence and transported her to a local hospital. Ms. Hartley died while in surgery from the gunshot wound.
Witnesses reported seeing a vehicle heading North on 9th Avenue driving slowly. They reported hearing and seeing about six shots fired from the passenger side of the vehicle in the direction of Ms. Hartley’s residence. The vehicle was described as a dark-colored, small to mid-sized two-door car speeding North on 9th Avenue following the shots. The Cold Case Unit would like anyone with information regarding this case to contact them.
