Case #84-34621
At approximately 6:25 pm on April 23, 1984, two friends were walking along the edge of a parking lot behind the apartment complex on the 1900 block of NE Multnomah Street when they observed what looked to be a female lying under some tree branches partially down the embankment where recent rail construction was taking place along Interstate 84. Police were called and discovered Vickie Williams, a 19-year-old African-American woman, deceased along the embankment. An autopsy revealed that she died as the result of stab wounds.
It was rumored that Vickie Williams occasionally engaged in prostitution. She was the mother of a young child at the time of her murder.
Vickie was last seen on the evening of March 18 on the 2400 block of NE Union Avenue (now Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard). She was last seen wearing a red blouse, dark pants with multicolored pin striping, white dirty tennis shoes, and a full length, dark purple raincoat.
