At approximately noon on June 3, 1985, an individual was in the process of mowing a field near the intersection of NE 47th and Elrod Road when he discovered a deceased female lying in the field. Police responded to find Tracy McCalip, a 23-year-old white woman, had been shot to death.

The area in which Tracy was found was known to be a “Lovers Lane” area.

Tracy McCalip was reported to have associated with individuals who were encouraging her to engage in prostitution. She was last seen alive on May 31 at the intersection of NE 20th and Sandy Boulevard at approximately 9:30 pm.
