On September 29, 1997, a newspaper delivery man came across the victim lying in the street next to his bicycle near the intersection of North Haight Avenue and Killingsworth Street. The victim, 47-year-old white male Timothy Warren “Timm” Kruger, was deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

A witness reported seeing a small to mid-sized older model sedan with a white or light-colored hood and roof with its headlights off strike the victim at the time of the shooting.

Timm Kruger was reported to be an avid bike rider. He worked at Freightliner on Swan Island and would often ride his bike to work. Timm Kruger also struggled with mental health and addiction issues.
