Shortly after 5:30 am on June 12, 1998, Rosendo Rivas Flores was discovered deceased in an alley behind an apartment complex on the 4800 block of N. Minnesota Avenue. Rosendo Rivas Flores, a 45-year-old Hispanic man, had died as the result a gunshot wound.
Rosendo Rivas Flores was a horse breeder and trainer with rural property in Washington County. It was reported that he had been involved in the sale of illegal drugs.
Witnesses reported hearing a gunshot near the apartment complex the night before the discovery of Mr. Rivas Flores at approximately 11:07 pm. An unidentified African-American man was seen leaving the area shortly after and has been described as 6 feet tall, slender with short hair.
