On September 1, 1987, a caretaker of the Beth Israel Temple on NW Flanders Street discovered a deceased man lying in the courtyard just after 7:30 am. The man, Maximino Peña-Segura, a 29-year-old Hispanic man, had died as the result of an apparent stab wound. An autopsy revealed that Mr. Peña-Segura died sometime after 3:15 am that morning.

 

Maximino Peña-Segura was a Mexican citizen who was in the U.S. illegally and was reported to have dealt drugs.

 

Witnesses may contact Cold Case Homicide Unit investigators directly at (503) 823-0400. To remain anonymous, witnesses may provide information through Crime Stoppers of Oregon.
