Case #88-97341

At approximately 11:45 pm on September 22, 1988, Leotis Bullard was patronizing a known crack house on the 100 block of NE Beech Street when a suspect entered the premises apparently looking for Mr. Bullard. Mr. Bullard, a 40-year-old African-American man, was shot multiple times and was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. Another man was shot but survived the incident.

 

Leotis Bullard was reported to be a known, low-level drug dealer who had been employed at a horse racing track in Salem near the time of his death.

Mr. Bullard was seen buying cocaine from a man in Cleo-Lillian’s Social Club at 3041 N. Williams Avenue at approximately 9:00 pm that night.
