On the morning of March 6, 1993, at approximately 2:30 am, Jermaine Piggee, a 20-year old black man, was watching TV in the living room at 5728 NE 15th Avenue when shots were fired into the residence through a window. A resident of the house called 911 and police responded, finding Jermaine Winston Piggee deceased on the floor of the living room from multiple gunshot wounds.

Jermaine Piggee was a known Woodlawn Park Blood gang member and had a criminal record consisting of numerous gun and drug arrests.
