Under a new state law (House Bill 3355), the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) will provide the name and Department of Public Safety Standards & Training (DPSST) number for PPB Officers upon request when at least one of six pieces of identifying information is provided.
If you already have the PPB Officer’s DPPST number, and wish to know their name, you may use this database:
Otherwise please submit a research request for identification of a PPB Officer here:

Please note that this site is for Portland Police Officer identification only. If you have a complaint about police officer misconduct, or would like to recognize an officer for a job well done, please contact the Independent Police Review (IPR) at ipr@portlandoregon.gov or (503) 823-0146. You do not need an officer’s name to make a report of misconduct to IPR. Please note that a request for officer identification is not considered a complaint regarding officer misconduct and will not be investigated as such.
