BHUAC Community Meeting Purpose and Objective
• The purpose of the quarterly BHUAC Community Meetings is to share, with the community, the work done by the BHUAC.
• The BHUAC Community Meetings are also an opportunity for community members to provide feedback and ask questions specifically regarding the BHUAC and its work.

• All present and participating in the BHUAC Community Engagement meeting are asked to introduce themselves.

Outline of Topics for Discussion
A brief overview of the BHUAC's purpose and mission will be reviewed and a link to the current Bylaws will be provided.
July 23, 2025
• Review of Settlement Agreement:
– Discussed the sections of the settlement agreement which pertain to the BHU
– Paragraphs 94, 95 and Action item 96
– All SOP's are up to date until 2026
August 27, 2025
• Pathways/Deflection Presentation
– The link to the Multnomah County Deflection Program website will be provided in the meeting chat to aid in the conversation.
• Proposed possible upcoming topics for presentation to the BHUAC include:
– A training presentation from the training department to provide an overview of that program beyond just behavioral health related training
– A presentation from BOEC on dispatch protocols for PSR and PR and policies surrounding behavioral health dispatch
– Data presentation on ECIT, PSR calls
– Legislative updates that are impactful to the BHU
September 24, 2025
• Voted to hold the meeting on an every other month schedule – change passed as written
• Case Study presentation from BHRT Team
– Officer Braun and Clinician Cindy Hackett
– Resulted in productive and positive conversation
– This was the first time a short synopsis was sent out to the committee prior to the meeting to allow for more time to come up with thoughtful questions
