Dear Portlanders,
The Police Accountability Commission is a group of twenty community members developing a new accountability system for Portland police, including a new oversight board and a new investigatory and disciplinary system. This email is a public meeting notice for the Police Accountability Commission for May 2023.

Public Meeting Notice
The Police Accountability Commission is now in its fourth phase of work (Structure and Details), developing Areas of Agreement on Reporting and Transparency, Board Membership, and Oversight Agency. This phase will end in early May, and then the PAC will start its next phase of work, focused on the Transition Plan and Broader System.

Public Meetings
The Police Accountability Commission and sub-committees will hold 8 meetings (one of which was held today) in May. Public notice was previously issued for all meetings through May 4.

The full commission will meet one to three more times to end the Structure and Details Phase of Work:

If the full Commission finishes on May 4 or May 8, subsequent meetings listed above will be adjusted to be sub-committee meetings for the next Phase of Work as described below.

The Transition Plan and Broader System Phase will most likely begin on May 11. The Sub-Committee on Transition Plan and the Sub-Committee on Broader System will each start meeting this week, and continue on through the end of the month:

The Police Accountability Commission generally meets on Thursday, with sub-committee and other meetings occurring on Monday. Occasionally, the full commission will meet on Monday. Meetings are held from 7-9 PM or 6:30-9 PM.
