Dear Portlanders,

The Police Accountability Commission is a City advisory group consisting of community members developing a new accountability system for Portland police, including a new investigatory and disciplinary structure and oversight board. This email is a public meeting notice for the Police Accountability Commission for February 2023. Many of these events, in particular those early in the month, have been previously announced or posted:

The Police Accountability Commission will hold one final sub-committee meeting for the Powers and Duties Phase:

The Police Accountability Commission will also hold three full commission meetings in order to finish approving Powers and Duties Phase outcome documents:

The Police Accountability Commission will also attend a community engagement event a community-based organization is holding privately to give input to the PAC on Thursday, February 16, 6:30-8:30 PM.

Sub-Committee meetings for the next phase of work, the Structure and Details Phase, will begin Monday, February 27. The Police Accountability Commission will not meet February 20, in line with the City's observance of Presidents Day.

The Police Accountability Commission generally meets on Thursday, with sub-committee and other meetings occurring on Monday. Occasionally, the full commission will meet on Monday. Meetings are held from 7-9 PM or 6:30-9 PM.

As more information is finalized for each meeting, it will be posted at the links above. The links include Zoom connection information and in-person viewing sites for members of the public to observe the meeting and participate with public comment, agenda items for the meeting, and other documents. Meeting reports will also be posted at this link after the meeting.
