Community Input

Community members may give input in multiple different ways. Prior to the meeting, members may provide advance public comment to the Police Accountability Commission through online webformvoicemail, or postal mail. Public comment related to the items under discussion at a specific meeting will be circulated to commission members if received by 8 AM, two days prior to the meeting, to allow commission members to read them in advance, and will also be part of the public record of the meeting.

The Police Accountability Commission also holds periodic community engagement events, which provide open opportunities for members of the public to tell their stories, weigh in on upcoming PAC discussions and decisions, and connect with the commissioners to ensure their voices are heard.

Additionally, members may give public comment verbally during a meeting without needing to sign up. Opportunities for verbal public comment will occur whenever placed on the agenda towards the end of a meeting, as well as prior to all substantive decisions of the commission. To give verbal public comment, simply raise your hand using the Zoom function during the meeting when facilitators ask if there is any public comment.
