The N/NE Preference Policy aims to address the harmful impacts of urban renewal by giving preference to housing applicants with generational ties to North/Northeast Portland. Current and former longtime residents of that area will be considered for new affordable housing opportunities before applicants without a previous history of having lived in the area.
