Tistilal Village, a 57-unit affordable housing project in Portsmouth, is now open! Native American Youth and Family Center (NAYA) replaced and expanded an existing complex to create this new housing opportunity for low-income families, with 16 units of Permanent Supportive Housing for those exiting homelessness.

Supportive services are provided on-site by NAYA and the Native American Rehabilitation Association of the Northwest (NARA). Tistilal Village includes a plaza, play area, seating and community gardens, plus indoor community spaces and supportive services offices with trauma-informed design. It is located near parks, groceries, and services. 22 of the units contain two or three bedrooms, in order to accomodate larger households such as families with children. The project was designed by Carleton Hart Architecture and built by Colas Construction, with development support from the Housing Development Center.

Tistilal Village is the eighth affordable housing project to open in Portland using Metro Affordable Housing Bond funds. The Metro Bond is on track to bring 2,046 affordable homes and counting to Portland, and is exceeding all major goals.
