Home Forward’s 84-unit new construction project located in the Cully neighborhood of Northeast Portland will co-locate affordable housing and a brand new Workforce Development Center operated by Portland Community College (PCC). The Native American Youth & Family Center will operate a three-classroom Early Childhood Education Center on-site. Other building amenities include a family room with lounge seating and TV, a community kitchen and dining table, community computers, a large laundry room with healthy food vending machines, and a bike storage room. The outdoor area will include a dining area and courtyard programmed with an experiential playscape. Commercial space serving community-articulated needs will be located on the ground floor.
Through the collaboration with PCC, the site will offer a 16,000 square foot plaza designed to support a weekly farmers market and other community-focused activities, and a casual amphitheater, with Wi-Fi access throughout. Residents will have easy access to Fernhill Park the NE 42nd Avenue commercial district. Bus stops for frequent service lines 72 and 75 are located immediately outside the property.
