Beacon is the Permanent Supportive Housing portion of the larger Glisan Landing development. Also see the adjacent family housing project: Aldea at Glisan Landing.
Related Northwest and Catholic Charities are partnering to develop 41 units of affordable housing on a formerly Metro-owned site in Montavilla. The NE 74th Avenue and Glisan Street project will consist of 41 units of Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH). The PSH project targets BIPOC, seniors, and people experiencing homelessness. Catholic Charities will provide case management and wrap-around services to PSH tenants. Amenities include a community room as well as a telehealth room. All residents will utilize the shared outdoor amenities, including the central courtyard connecting the Beacon and Aldea. Related and Catholic Charities will also use Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund (PCEF) dollars to install heat pumps, energy-star appliances and electric vehicle charging stations and a photovoltaic solar array that will offset utility costs incurred by tenants and provide year-round comfort and safety.
The project team is also partnering with Stone Soup to offer a barista/culinary training program and a cafe for the public on the ground floor. The site is well supported by parks and amenities including the Rosemont Bluff Natural Area, the Montavilla Community Center, a grocery store within walking distance, and two frequent-service TriMet bus lines on NE Glisan and NE 82nd Avenue.
