Emergency Declaration for the Public Environment Management Office

Mayor Wheeler authorized the creation of the Public Environment Management Office through an emergency declaration, which went into effect on May 11, 2022.

Mayor Ted Wheeler signed the Public Environment Management Office Emergency Declaration which works to improve the cleanup of the city, unrelated to homelessness, on May 11, 2022. This is the fourth in a series of Emergency Declarations aimed at helping to address homelessness and livability issues in Portland. This Emergency Declaration was announced during his 2022 State of the City address, and went into effect on Wednesday, May 11th, 2022. The three previously issued Emergency Declarations by Mayor Wheeler were also renewed on May 11th.
