My name is Katherine McDowell and I am a volunteer member of the Police Accountability Commission (PAC). I am also one of the co-chairs of the PAC for this Phase of Work. We are submitting these comments in writing because none of the PAC’s co-chairs are available to attend your town hall in person tonight. We have three comments on the COCL's assessment of the PAC's work. First, COCL assesses PAC compliance in Paragraph 195b, which includes other remedies beyond just the PAC. The draft report gives all of Paragraph 195 together a rating of "partial compliance.” To clarify, the PAC is on track to finish its work by August 31, 2023, well in advance of the October 29, 2023 deadline in the Settlement Agreement.
