Cooling Center/Misting Station Volunteer

The Portland Bureau of Emergency Management is seeking volunteers to staff cooling centers and misting stations August 11-15. See below to sign up for this location.

Indoor cooling centers:

• Charles Jordan Community Center, 9009 N Foss Ave (Portsmouth)
• The Portland Building, 1120 SW 5th Ave (Downtown)

Outdoor misting stations:

• Glenhaven Park, NE 82nd Ave & NE Siskiyou St (Roseway/Madison South)
• Knott Park, 11456 NE Knott St (Parkrose Heights)
• Mt Scott Park, SE 72nd Ave & Harold Street (Mt Scott)
• East Portland Community Center, 740 SE 106th Ave
• Lents Park, 4808 SE 92nd Ave
• Harney City Park, SE Harney St & SE 67th Ave

Hot-weather safety precautions apply:

• Only volunteer if you are feeling well and are not in a high-risk group during heat
• Volunteers must wear a mask for COVID-19 protection, for themselves and others
• Drink lots of water
• Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
