The Portland Mitigation Action Plan (MAP) is the City’s strategy to reduce risks from natural hazards.
We are updating Portland’s Mitigation Action Plan (MAP). The MAP is the city’s strategy to reduce risks from natural hazards over time.
Portland is vulnerable to earthquakes, floods, landslides, wildfires, and severe weather. The MAP takes a detailed look at how these hazards could hurt people and property, and describes how the City will systematically decrease these risks over time. The MAP identifies specific projects and programs, like floodplain restoration, seismic retrofitting, and back-up power for critical facilities.
Our plan update kicked off in January 2021 with a goal of finishing by November 2021.
Meeting materials for our steering committee are posted below.
The MAP for 2016-2021 is available at https://www.portlandoregon.gov/pbem/67578.
