Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) is always looking for motivated and responsible individuals to join our aquatics staff. We offer lifeguard certification, swim instructor training, and water fitness instructor training classes year-round.
Portland Parks & Recreation maintains a variety of sports fields - soccer, football, baseball, and softball - throughout the city. PP&R also issues permits for Portland Public School District fields.

Community Centers

Portland Parks & Recreation community centers are temporarily closed and all indoor recreation activities are canceled until further notice.

Fitness in the Park

Portland Parks & Recreation's Fitness in the Park helps community members achieve their fitness goals while adhering to physical distancing recommendations and connecting to nature in our parks. All fitness levels are welcome.
All seven outdoor public pools and four indoor pools reopened on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. Outdoor pools will have lap swim, swim lessons, play swim, and water exercise classes. Play swims and swim lessons are not available at indoor pools this summer.

Lifelong Recreation

Lifelong Recreation (formerly Senior Recreation) is dedicated to ensuring access to recreational, educational, and wellness opportunities for adults age 60+.

Play Swim Schedule

Portland Parks & Recreation is dedicated to providing a play-based, child-centered educational preschool program for ages 3–5 years old. Play is an important avenue for learning. It is our goal to honor where each child is in their development.

Summer Camps

In summer 2021, Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R)’s primary goal is to keep our community healthy and to protect the public from the spread of COVID-19. PP&R designed summer programming to meet public health guidance and to be flexible as conditions change.
At Schools Uniting Neighborhoods (SUN) Community Schools the school community works with partners in the broader community to educate and support kids creating a collective impact.
Portland Parks & Recreations owns and operates four indoor pools and seven outdoor pools.
Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) is responsible for providing all Portlanders with recreational opportunities that are safe and reliable. Safety is our top priority.
