History

In 2021-22, ADA improvements were made to remediate barriers to accessing the park including new pathways, drinking fountains, picnic tables, benches; restroom improvements; and spectating improvements for the SE backstop/dugouts.

In July 2023, after extensive community feedback, with equity factors being the deciding criteria, former Culture and Livability City Commissioner Dan Ryan and Portland Parks & Recreation Director Adena Long announced the new North Portland Aquatic Center will be built at Northgate Park
