Portland Parks & Recreation Aquatics Reminds you that May is Water Safety Month

Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) is joining with other organizations nationwide during the month of May to promote National Water Safety Month.  Beginning Friday, May 1 through May 31, staff at PP&R pools will be handing out pledge forms for youth asking them to promise to

• Always swim with a buddy
• Look before they leap
• Wear a lifejacket
• Be cool, follow the rules
• Learn to swim if you haven’t already! 

Adults and kids may choose to enter a raffle for free swim lessons, life jackets, goggles and sunscreen (one entry per visit). 

Aquatics staff will also hand out pledge forms to adults, asking them to commit to being Water Watchers by supervising their children in the pool.
