Holiday Wreath Sales Benefit Scholarships for Nature Camps and Classes

Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R)’s Environmental Education division presents the 25th annual holiday wreath fundraiser. Wreath sales support scholarships for underprivileged children to attend PP&R’s Summer Nature Day Campprogram and Children's Nature Classes, where environmental educators connect children to the natural beauty and ecology of Portland’s parks. PP&R’s environmental educators help teach children about nature when they are young, a practice which helps them care about parks and natural stewardship throughout their lives.

Wreath-making and wreath sales every day (weekdays AND weekends) at Mt Tabor Yard Greenhouse, (6437 SE Division): 10am-3:30pm. Other locations: hours vary (please see below).
Profits from wreath sales are used to benefit Portland children would not otherwise be able to afford the cost of a program. One-third of profits will be used to subsidize PP&R’s nature classes, and the remaining amount will help send children to a week of Nature Day Camp on a 95% scholarship. PP&R’s Environmental Education division provides the camp staff, bus transportation, water and snacks. Last year PP&R partnered with the Ortiz Family Center in NE Portland to provide the camp experience to 25 children. Portland Parks & Recreation hopes to raise $13,000 towards camp and class costs this year.
