Last weekend's heavy rains have caused safety concerns on the park roads at Portland Parks & Recreation's Kelley Point Park (N. Marine Drive and N. Lombard). The non-stop rain and wind uprooted several trees, and their integrity is in doubt as they lean over above the pavement.  Therefore, Portland Parks & Recreation has closed Kelley Point Park today (Friday, October 4, 2013) to all visitors.

We expect to reopen the park tomorrow, with vehicle traffic restricted to no further than the park's primary parking lot, until our Urban Forestry team can address the situation.  People walking or biking in the park when it reopens are advised to be aware of the potential hazards and proceed with caution.
