Project details: Join Friends of Trees, Friends of Gateway Green, Portland Parks Foundation, and Portland Parks & Recreation to remove introduced, weedy plants such as English ivy and Himalayan blackberry to make way for native plants to support our local wildlife in the natural area of Gateway Green. Gateway green is a premier park that offers off-road cycling and other outdoor recreation in East Portland. Everyone is welcome, and no experience necessary! Staff will provide gloves, tools, instruction, and light snacks. Work will involve bending over, shoveling, and walking on muddy and uneven ground.
Location: Gateway Green. Please register to find out specific location within the park. Register with Friends of Trees below and you will be sent more information about the meeting location.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering to keep Portland's natural area parks healthy, beautiful, and safe for people and wildlife! Here are a few tips to get you ready for your stewardship event.
- Registration is required for all stewardship events, unless otherwise noted.
- Stay home if you are experiencing symptoms of any contagious illness.
- All tools, gloves and training to do the task is provided.
- In order to ensure your comfort and safety, please remember to dress for the weather, wear close-toed shoes, bring a water bottle, and be ready to get dirty!
- While groups are welcome to join many of our regularly scheduled stewardship events, please contact the event coordinator listed in the description before arriving with a large group. This will ensure that there are enough gloves and tools for everyone to work. We are also available to schedule special service events at your group's convenience during the week or on weekends.
