Marquam Nature Park - Stewardship Event

Volunteer Event
Join PP&R and Forest Park Conservancy to remove invasively growing ivy in Marquam Nature Park!
9:00 am 12:00 pm

Project details:
Join PP&R and Forest Park Conservancy to help restore Marquam Nature Park. Volunteers will remove invasively growing plants such as English ivy and Himalayan blackberry. Removing invasively growing species enhances wildlife habitat and encourages regeneration of native plant species to prevent erosion and water runoff. This is a great way to get outside and enjoy nature.

Please bring your own water bottle, wear closed toe shoes, and dress for the weather. Instructions, tools, and gloves will be provided. For the safety of staff and other volunteers, please stay home if you are feeling sick.

Thank you for helping to keep Portland parks healthy and beautiful! Here are a few tips to get you ready for your stewardship event.

  • In order to ensure your comfort and safety, please remember to dress for the weather, wear close-toed shoes, bring a water bottle, and be ready to get dirty!
  • Registration is required for all stewardship events, unless otherwise noted.
  • Stay home if you are experiencing symptoms of any contagious illness.
  • All tools, gloves and training to do the task is provided.
  • While groups are welcome to join many of our regularly scheduled stewardship events, please contact the event coordinator listed in the description before arriving with a large group.
