Project details:

Join PP&R and Westside Watershed Resource Center for a morning of invasively growing English ivy removal at River View Natural Area. This protected Portland Parks & Recreation natural area features diverse habitats of mixed coniferous forests and riparian zones and delivers cool water from seven streams into the Willamette at spots that salmon and steelhead like to hangout. This is a great way to connect with nature and make a difference.

Please dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, and bring your own water bottle. Volunteers will be working off trail on uneven ground. Tools, gloves, instruction, and refreshments will be provided!

Thank you for helping to keep Portland parks healthy and beautiful! Here are a few tips to get you ready for your stewardship event.

  • In order to ensure your comfort and safety, please remember to dress for the weather, wear close-toed shoes, bring a water bottle, and be ready to get dirty!
  • Registration is required for all stewardship events, unless otherwise noted.
  • Stay home if you are experiencing symptoms of any contagious illness.
  • All tools, gloves and training to do the task is provided.
  • While groups are welcome to join many of our regularly scheduled stewardship events, please contact the event coordinator listed in the description before arriving with a large group. This will ensure that there are enough gloves and tools for everyone to work. We are also available to schedule special service events at your group's convenience during the week or on weekends. If you are looking for community service to fulfill court requirements, please call 503-823-5121. You must be registered with our program before undertaking any community service.
